1/20/22: On a trip to Dallas to see family, we had started to get worried that we hadn't felt Leo kick all day. After talking to the Doctor, we decided to go to the hospital to get checked out. When we got there, we got the worst news imaginable, that our little Leo didn't have a heartbeat. Alaina was in good health, and we were able to fly back home to be with family and go to the hospital with our Doctors.

1/22/22 Leo Joseph Madonia was delivered at 12:00 pm with his angel wings. He weighed 2.5 lbs, and was 15.75 inches long. We were instantly in love, and he changed our lives forever.

We have since learned that there was an issue with his umbilical cord, and it was hyper coiled, which caused narrowing. It was undetectable, and no way to know that it was happening.
